Notebooks, 1877-1898, some kept on field trips in the Hudson Highlands and Newburgh area, recording Weed's observations of the geology and meterology of the region, including such subjects as valleys and mountains, the comet of 1882, Washington Lake, etc. and diary entries on hikes and at home. Some of his frequent companions were N.S. Smith, Frank Weed, and J.S. Boyd. Includes some loose newspaper clippings.
